On Tuesday evening, The Brewers play potentially their toughest NCEL away game of the season so far as they head to West Yorkshire to play at leaders Silsden. BD20 0EH. Neither team played last Saturday as Storm Darragh caused both of their games to be postponed.
They have had a wonderful first half of the season. They have won their last eleven league games as well as some F.A. Vase games in that period. Nine of those league wins were by a single goal. At home they have taken 21 points from 9 games played. In their last league game, they had a good 3-2 win away at Thackley, whilst on the same day as The Brewers won 3-2 at home to Eccleshill United. They are top of the table by 2 points form Golcar United, so will want another win to go 5 points clear on the night.
In the game at Tadcaster back in August, The Brewers came out 3-1 winners with goals by Luca Bolino and two from Elliott Andrew. The Cobbydalers scored with a late goal by Kayle Price. The Brewers number 9 now has 17 league goals and 2 in other competitions. This makes him the joint top scorer in league games and one on Tuesday evening would take Elliott top above Penistone Church’s Natham Keightley. Former Brewer Casey Stewart has scored 12 goals in all competitions for Silsden. But he is their second highest scorer behind Kayle Price with 17 in all competitions.
The Brewers currently lie in 16th place in the NCEL table with 22 points from 21 games played and a draw would take them up a place, and a win possibly 2 places. The team would welcome any support that anybody could give on Tuesday evening. If you can't make the game, follow the updates on X.
