Tadcaster Albion welcome Prescot Cables to the i2i stadium on Saturday looking to record their ninth home win of the season.
The reverse fixture back in November was an interesting encounter with Dominic Marie scoring the only goal of the game. The goal came courtesy of an outrageous and incredibly fortuitous bounce off the uneven pitch which in the end saw the Cables take all three points.
The Brewers will be looking to reach the 50 point mark before the season comes to a close at the end of the month. Three points this afternoon will move Billy Miller’s side within five points of that target.
Prescot currently sit 20th in the Evo-Stik Division One North, just one point above second bottom Goole but with two games in hand.
Manager Andy Paxton will come into the contest confident of picking up a result after, like Tadcaster, reaching their local County Cup Final beating Bootle 5-1 away from home in midweek.
Prior to that Prescot recorded three consecutive home draws against Goole, Droylsden and Kendal Town respectively.
Having said that, the vast majority of Taddy’s points have been secured in front of their own fans at the i2i stadium so I’m sure Billy Miller and his side will also be feeling good.
Team News: New signings Piteu Crouz and Carlos Djalo are both in contention to make their home debuts for the Brewers. Josh Barrett may not be ready to start after suffering ankle ligament damage ten days ago. Michael Ingham (foot), Andy Milne (knee) and Jason Mycoe (knee) all remain on the side-lines but Josh Greening and Carl Stewart could both return from illness.
