There has been a major step forward towards overcoming the problems caused by the flooding of the River Wharfe, should help stop 99% of all floods affecting our club.
Since 2015 when the devastation was so severe that the Tadcaster Bridge collapsed severing the Town for 15 months, our football ground and its clubhouse, along with shops and houses in the affected area, have been severely affected many times.
Many home games have been postponed as a result, adding to the financial problems caused by the flooding and our plans to improve facilities put on hold.
We are, therefore, pleased to report that the Environment Agency has now submitted a planning application for its Flood Alleviation Scheme (FAS) to the North Yorkshire Council . Details are open for public view of the scheme which will replace and improve flood defences on both the left and right banks of the River Wharfe through the town.
Sympathetic landscaping is a key element in addition to the flood prevention works.
Details of the scheme can be accessed at;
