On Saturday afternoon, The Brewers play their penultimate league game of the season against high flying Hallam from Sheffield. Hallam have already secured a playoff position but will be pushing hard to finish as runners up behind NCEL champions Silsden.

In the away game at Hallam back in September, it was a 1-0 win for the home team in front of an attendance of 502. Last season, The Brewers won the home game 4-0 in front of a crowd of 117. That was our final game of last season. We originally played them at home in March, but it was abandoned due to heavy rain. At Hallam, we drew 1-1. We were to finish the season in 11th, whilst Hallam were a little higher up the table in 9th place.

Hallam have the 2nd best away record in the league this season, only bettered by Champions Silsden. On the form table, they have taken 16 points from the last 6 games as compared to The Brewers who have taken just 3 points. Their last defeat in the league was back in November. Their leading goalscorer this season is Rio Allen who has scored 28 goals in the league and a further 6 goals in the various cup competitions.

Next Saturday at 3pm, The Brewers play their final game of the 2024-25 season at home to Beverley Town who are pushing for a play off place. It should be a great atmosphere on the day as they are bringing a coach of fans with them to the game. Another exciting game, but first we have Hallam to play. Two big tests for The Brewers, but games where the players can end the season on a high, to prepare for next season's challenges.

Best
