Twenty–one year old striker, Lewis, joins Tadcaster from AFC Wakefield where last season he hit 20 goals as the team challenged unsuccessfully in the play offs in NCEL Division 1.
Born in Pontefract, Lewis has also been with Glasshoughton, North Ferriby and Maltby Main but his move to the Brewers will be the highest level at which he has played.
He is an out and out striker and has wanted to link up with Mick O’Connell for some time;
“I am a great admirer of the way Mick and Josh coach, and the very professional way Mick manages his squads. I have tried on three occasions to sign for him, but something always seemed to get in the way until now.”
“Mick’s teams always display “real” togetherness, which to be honest, is just what I have been looking for. I know several of the other lads who have signed which helps, although they have always been on the opposing side! I believe that I can add to the “team spirit”
“It may take a little while to gel with the new team at Tadcaster, but once I feel comfortable, I will be chasing my ambition of 25 goals in a season and promotion – I have notched up 20 in my previous two campaigns and, although it is a tougher league, I will give everything to achieve those targets.
I am very happy to have signed. Tadcaster Albion has a really good reputation and good facilities. I can’t wait for the new season to get going.
Welcome Lewis. We had a real goal drought last season and could not be happier that you have joined the Club.
