Josh Hardcastle is one of the younger players to have followed Mick O’Connor to Tadcaster.
Twenty-year-old Josh was born and bred in Harrogate and as a seventeen year joined the “Rail” showing great potential in their Under 18’s and reserve teams. He then went on to the Under 21’s at Harrogate Town where he became a member of the first team squad.
He returned to Station View in 2020 and has been a regular in defence ever since . Josh has mainly played in the right back position but is also effective at right wing back or centre back. Josh is known for covering a lot of ground – bringing “energy” to the defence and always willing to go the extra mile.
“I’m very happy to be linked up with Mick again after being with him for 2 seasons. He has really helped me develop as a young player and more especially in the way he setups a team to play football the right way. I have been with “Walshy” from Harrogate Town Under 16s - he knows me very well and should be great for my development”.
The full back is looking forward to the start of the new season; “It’s definitely going to make fitting in that bit easier with a lot of players from Railway and a few I know from other teams that have been brought in.
“Taddy is a great club and ground. When I came to Tadcaster the first thing that impressed me was the pitch which will suit the way Mick wants to play football.
Like the other new arrivals, he is targeting a positive campaign, “I think with the players we’ve got, we should do well this season. I reckon the play-offs and above really.”
We are delighted you have joined Josh. We are sure you will enjoy your time with us.
