The former Stoke City & Leeds United frontman Richard Cresswell is the latest name to join the club with nine massive games to go in the NCEL Premier Division and NCEL League Cup.
Cresswell joins up with former teammate and close friend Jonathan Greening, the pair both worked together at York City stepping in as caretaker managers in October of 2015.
Cresswell’s most successful period came at Lancashire based side Preston North End after making 176 appearances scoring 46 goals.
The now 38-year-old joined Leeds United in 2005 for a fee of £1.15 million and ended up scoring nine times in 38 appearances. He also had spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City, Stoke City and Sheffield United.
The target man is expected to make his debut in next Thursday’s League Cup Quarter-Final against Knaresborough Town.
Tadcaster Albion Chairman Matt Gore said: “We are delighted to have Richard on board, he will bring knowledge and experience on and off the field. The club approached him to sign on before the deadline in case required.
We have lots of games coming up over the next three weeks and he is more than happy to help out. We are all looking forward to seeing him in a Taddy shirt next Thursday at Knaresborough.”
